Google is set to revamp its Pixel 10 series by using a new chip, moving away from Samsung’s Tensor chips to TSMC’s production. The upcoming Tensor G5 is expected to enhance performance but early Geekbench scores have raised concerns, with single-core and multi-core scores much lower than competitors like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite. The G5 features a main core at 3.40 GHz, five mid-cores at 2.86 GHz, and two low cores at 2.44 GHz, along with a PowerVR GPU. However, these initial performance numbers have led to skepticism about the anticipated improvements in the Pixel series. There is hope that future tests will yield better results, as this may just be an early assessment of the chip’s capabilities.
