Pixel phones are lagging behind competitors due to their chip performance, despite recent improvements in Google’s Tensor chips. There are significant customer complaints about overheating, which Google plans to address with the upcoming Tensor G6 in the Pixel 11 series, also promising better battery life. However, this raises concerns that the Pixel 10 series with the Tensor G5 may still face heating issues. Google’s chip enhancements aim to meet financial targets and will utilize TSMC’s N3P process, which may compromise some functionalities, such as ray-tracing in the GPU. While the CPU might remain unaffected, overall performance is still not expected to match competitors.
